MAINE STARS CHEER GYM
"THE WAY CHEERING SHOULD BE!"
Can I try out a tumbling class before joining Maine Stars?
We recommend you take advantage of 1 free class before you sign-up for our tumbling class.
Can I watch a cheer class before I try-out to be a Maine Stars Cheerleader? Absolutely! Call us and we'll tell you a good time to come in and watch one of our teams practice. Then if you are interested in being part of the Maine Stars tradition we'll set up an evaluation.
If I don't have a back handspring can I still cheer at Maine Stars? No matter your age or ability we will find a team for you here at Maine Stars. Everyone who wants to be part of the experience, can and will be! Plus with some hard work and expert instruction you'll learn skills you've always dreamed of having!
Can I afford to cheer at Maine Stars? Yes, we realize the tough economic times we are all having. We have made changes to help lessen the traveling costs associated with All-Star Cheerleading. Please see the "Teams" page on our website for a full list of policies we are following to help with the economic crisis. Also, new this year is the reinstitutio of P.O.M.S. - Parents Of Maine Stars. This organization is working to raise money for all students in the gym to help off-set the cost of competitions. Check out their web-page.
Is Maine Stars a big time commitment? We practice every other week during the months of July and August so that you can enjoy your summer. September through early May we have ONE mandatory practice per week and ONE mandatory tumbling class per week. We try to pair the tumbling class and cheer class back to back so in actuality we only see you once a week! During the months of February through April we are busy with weekend competitions. During this time it may be necessary to schedule an additional practice the week of a competition.
Can I stay involved at my school if I cheer at Maine Stars? Absolutely, we have girls who cheer, play basketball, soccer, lacrosse, track, are involved with theater, choir and dance. We even have a coach who coaches outside the gym! The only thing we ask is that you inform us of any scheduling conflicts well in advance, so that we can make every effort to re-schedule practice so that all team members can be present. Please be advised that conflicts during the months of February through May need to be kept to a minimum. This is our busy time of the cheer season and gym space is limited. It is virtually impossible for us to reschedule a team's practice without it effecting another team.
If you have any additional questions do not hesitate to call, email or stop by to ask. We will get back to you with a reply ASAP.
